Squarefield acted as exclusive financial advisor to Van Hessen on the sale to SARIA Group

The market-leading natural casing companies Van Hessen and Teeuwissen will integrate their activities into a new division of Saria under the name of Van Hessen. The complementary activities of Van Hessen and Teeuwissen will lead to a fully integrated worldwide value chain that safeguards continuity and leadership in quality.

The Management Board of the new, combined Van Hessen organisation will consist of Harald van Boxtel and Elliot Simon. As CEO of the new division, Harald will continue to be responsible for the remaining activities of Teeuwissen, while Elliot will be the new division’s CCO. The head office of the new organisation will be located in Nieuwerkerk a.d. Ijssel in the Netherlands.

Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

Teeuwissen is a well-known supplier of high-quality products to the pharmaceutical industry and the food and pet food industries. Teeuwissen has been owned by SARIA since 2010 and employs around 2,500 people worldwide.

SARIA Group

SARIA, headquartered in Selm, Germany, is an international manufacturer of quality goods for human consumption, animal nutrition, agriculture, the pharmaceutical industry and industrial applications. SARIA is also active in renewable energies and is a significant provider of services to the agriculture and food industries. The company employs around 8,000 people at 180 locations across 19 countries.
