Squarefield acted as exclusive financial advisor to Royal Agrifirm Group on the sale of its Hungarian activities to UBM Group

On June 4, 2025, Royal Agrifirm Group (“Agrifirm”) entered into a definitive agreement to sell its Hungarian subsidiary, Agrifirm Magyarország Zrt. (“Agrifirm Hungary” or the “Company”), to UBM Group (“UBM”), one of Hungary’s leading agricultural groups. The transaction forms part of Agrifirm’s strategic reorientation to concentrate its resources on innovation and growth in its core markets. The closing of the transaction is expected to take place in August 2025, subject to regulatory approval and customary closing conditions.

Agrifirm Hungary holds a leading position in Hungary in the production of poultry feed, including parent stock, broiler, and layer feed. With three well-invested feed mills located in Győr, Környe and Kaba, the combined annual production capacity of the Hungarian sites reaches approximately 250,000 tonnes.

Under UBM’s ownership, the business will continue to serve its customers and partners with high-quality feed solutions, benefitting from increased scale and operational synergies. The transaction increases UBM’s annual compound feed production capacity by over 40% to 850,000 tonnes, reinforcing its market-leading position in Hungary while contributing to its broader regional expansion strategy. UBM intends to grow its annual feed production to 1 million tonnes by 2026, supported by targeted acquisitions and greenfield investments across Central and Eastern Europe.

The sale of Agrifirm Hungary was executed by Squarefield, a leading Food & Agri focused corporate finance advisor with offices in Amsterdam, Frankfurt, and Antwerp. The sale of Agrifirm Hungary is a testament to Squarefield’s deep market expertise and network across international (Food & Agri) value chains.
