On December 18, 2024, Zwanenberg Food Group (“Zwanenberg” or the “Company”), a leading global producer of meat, vegetarian, vegan and convenience food products and solutions, announced the intended acquisition of the Unox and Zwan brand (in Belgium and Greece) from Unilever, pending approval from the market authority and consultation. The intended acquisition also includes Unilever’s production lines for soups in pouches.
Zwanenberg offers a wide range of food solutions under private label and through its own brands, such as Kips, Chicken Tonight and Huls. The Company is set to expand its portfolio with Unilever’s marketing and sales activities for the iconic Unox brand, a staple in Dutch households for soups and sausages, and Zwan, a well-known name in Belgium for premium meat products. This move aligns with Zwanenberg’s strategic focus on soups, meat products, plant-based substitutes, sauces and meals, further strengthening its position as a global food industry leader.
Zwanenberg Food Group produces canned meat, snacks, soups, sauces, convenience meals, and an expanding range of vegetarian and vegan products. The company exports its products to over 100 countries and is well-known in the Benelux for brands such as Kips (liver sausage, pâté, vegetarian products), Chicken Tonight (meal sauces), and Huls (dry sausage).
