Squarefield acted as exclusive financial advisor to Heiploeg on the acquisition of the shrimp division of Lenger Seafoods
Squarefield acted as exclusive financial advisor to Heiploeg International B.V. (“Heiploeg”), a leading supplier of a wide range of high quality shrimp products, based in Zoutkamp in the Netherlands, in concluding their agreement for a partnership for the processing and sale of shrimp products of Lenger Seafoods.
Over the last few years, Lenger Seafoods has grown significantly both in shrimp and shellfish products. Products are supplied under its own brands ‘Lengers’ and ‘Du Nord’ along with several private label products mainly [for] the European market. Lenger Seafoods aims to further specialise itself in the next couple of years by focusing on the processing and sales of shellfish products from its production facilities in the Netherlands (Yerseke and Harlingen) and the United Kingdom. In addition, Lenger Seafoods will continue to invest in its fishing activities in the North Sea and farming in Vietnam of shellfish.
Heiploeg, since 2014 part of the Parlevliet & Van der Plas group, is the leading supplier in Europe of a wide range of high quality shrimp products distributed through retail and foodservice, wholesalers and food processing companies.
The new combination will use the respective strengths in processing and sales of shrimps of both companies. Lenger Seafoods and Heiploeg International will combine their high-quality products, concept development capabilities, experience and specialised knowledge to provide innovative products effectively to their clients.
